DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi (N) in collaboration with Civil Rights Forum and civil society organizations is organizing a Public Mass Rally on the motto ‘Protect our Land & People’ on October 22 at Jalukie Town traffic point, Peren district.
A press release issued by the Public Rally Organizing Committee stated that the rally is being organized to dispense social justice and denounce social injustices.
The Naga society today is being disrupted by policies/politics alien to Naga traditional and customary way of social governance. There is a dire and urgent need to usher a new and ideal social order in our society, the Committee stated while adding that the rally will focus on asserting the historical rights and customary practices of the Zeliangrong Naga villages in the context of Peren District.
Florine Iheilung, International Secretary Women Wing, BRICS Human Rights Mission, Prof Salekyu, NCU Dimapur and Neiteo Koza Advocate have been invited to speak at the rally.
In this connection, all the citizens under Peren district, business communities, officers and public leaders, teachers and students, villages, all educational institutions and churches have been requested to participate in the rally in respecting the rights of every citizen in the district.
All business establishments, educational institutions would remain closed from 10 am till 1 pm. All participants have been requested to come in traditional attire and organizational banners at the rally.
