Public take part in the joint social work for road repair conducted under the initiations of Adhoc Town Committee and GBs of Ahthibung town on July 13.
Ahthibung, July 14 (MExN): Under the initiations of Adhoc Town Committee and GBs of Ahthibung town, a joint social work for road repair was conducted with participation of Ahthibung citizens and four surrounding villages namely Inbung, Songlhuh, Old Chalkot and New Chalkot on July 13.
The stretch of road between Ahthibung town and Old Chalkot was repaired by draining pools of logged water and filling them with sand gravels, informed a press release. The Old Chalkot-Saijang stretch of road was cleared of roadside foliage and overgrown grass and bush which had obstructed views of drivers and commuters, and also posing grave dangers to the public, it stated.
It may be mentioned that vehicle owners of the villages concerned and the SDO (Civil) Ahthibung, Rupfukutuo Noudi, came forward with financial contribution, which help procure 10 loads of sand gravel. While the AR and Police Department extended their help in transportation and refreshment.
