Medothi Rhakho inaugurates public washroom on June 20.

Kohima, June 20 (MExN): A newly constructed public washroom along National Highway-702A at Khüsuntüka (Brotherhood Road), near Chetheba Town in Phek district, was officially inaugurated on June 20. Inaugurating the facility, Medothi Rhakho, Village Council Chairman (VCC) of Thenyizu lauded the Altruist Society Chetheba for making this project possible. “This facility will serve countless travelers and improve sanitation along the highway,” he said.
Zavekho Resu thanked all the individuals and well-wishers who contributed generously to the project. Altruist Society comprise of 21 young professionals-including engineers, entrepreneurs, students and civil servants-united by a shared vision of community upliftment. Their recent project targets a critical gap in public infrastructure: the lack of sanitation facilities for commuters traveling between Phek, Zunheboto, Tuensang, and others via NH-702A.
A total of 40 donors from various districts of Nagaland, who travel along the highway, contributed to the cause, while the Altruist Society took the initiative to plan and execute the construction process.
Contributions poured in not only from Chetheba residents, but also from Kohima, Tseminyu, Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Phek, and Dimapur, a reflection of broad-based support for cleaner, more welcoming public spaces across Nagaland.
