•    Reaffirms  stance on ‘One Government, One Tax’
•    Decries govt officials, engineers holding Class-I contractor registration

KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has urged the State Government to “sincerely publish the work programmes of each and every department of the State Government for the financial year 2025-2026.”

The union also reaffirmed its stance for “One Government, One Tax,” as it unanimously adopted four resolutions during an emergency meeting held at its head office Kohima on February 26.

Any bonafide NCSU member facing “hardship or undesirable circumstances over taxation or demand from any quarter” is urged to report the matter to the NCSU head office, it stated.

In another resolution, the union called for an end to government officials and engineers holding Class-I contractor registration with the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD). Such an act “should be done away with without delay,” it asserted, terming it “illegal and punishable under the law.”

Regarding the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-III) projects for 2023-24, the union resolved that “a thorough on-the-spot verification should be conducted by all the District units of NCSU.” A detailed report should be submitted to the NCSU head office by March 13 for further action, it added.

According to the NCSU, the emergency meeting was attended by office bearers from the head office, district representatives, and members from various communities.
