Pukhayi Sumi calls for support

Zunheboto, February 16 (MExN): The declaration of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate for 34 Aghunato A/C was held on February 14 at Aghunato Town.

Pukhayi Sumi, who is the NDPP candidate for the constituency, said anti-incumbency prevailed over NPF government in Nagaland during 2013-2017 causing hindrance to developmental activities in the state.

“With the trend of infighting, NPF future seems bleak and hopeless,” Pukhayi said, while citing it as the reason for his decision to contest with NDPP ticket.

“The future of NDPP party which is in alliance with the BJP seems brighter and eminent,” Pukhayi added, according to a press release from James, general secretary of NDPP, 34 Aghunato A/C.

Stating that the seat of MLA is an asset that belongs to the public, he said people in the grassroots level should take the right decision and support the candidate who possesses genuine passion to serve the people.

Pukhayi further requested the people of 34 Aghunato A/C to support him for five more years in order to achieve higher and better goals in the future. The NDPP candidate also requested the people of Aghunato areas for a peaceful participation in the ongoing election, the release said.

Meanwhile, veteran Congress president of Aghunato, Ghokheto Yepthomi, while delivering a short speech, extended his support and co-operation to Pukhayi Sumi, the press release informed.
