Puma executives sue over lookalike Rihanna shoes

Puma bosses filed a lawsuit in federal court against the heads of fashion store Forever 21, claiming that they have been making illegal knock-offs of three of Rihanna's footwear designs, including the Creeper, Bow Slide and Fur Slide.   In the paperwork, Puma claims Forever 21's whole "business model is based on trading off of the established goodwill of reputable, name-brand companies, such as Puma", according to TMZ.com.   Puma executives note that they hold the patents and copyrights for Rihanna's shoe line and have deliberately kept the volume low on her range to create demand for the "luxury products". They claim Forever 21 ruins that strategy with their shoes, which they allegedly copied.   Puma bosses want the sales of the mentioned Forever 21 shoes to be shut down and to receive all of the company's profits from them.
