Pungro town sensitized on consumer rights

Kiphire, February 1 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kiphire organized a theme based Awareness & Education programme at Pungro town, Kiphire district on January 28.

It was held in collaboration with Saramati Nexus Club (SNC) Pungro and Pungro Town Students’ Union (PTSU) under the theme ‘Know Your Rights.’

Guest speaker Nuhuta Tunyi, EAC Pungro HQ highlighted on the rights of a consumer and encouraged the consumers on redressal for any unsatisfactory circumstances, a press release from SNC Secretary, Adilen Kipzz stated.

He elaborated on the rights to safety, right to seek redressal and right to information. Tunyi also assured the consumers that the district administration will fully support in clearing any redressal submitted to the office. Throngso, Executive Chairman PTSU delivered the key note address while Khiutsithong, General Secretary, Public Forum Pungro sub-division delivered a short speech. The speaker lauded the NYK and the initiative of PTSU and SNC for organizing an eye opening campaign, which was one of the first awareness campaigns in the area.

The programme saw an act by Comedy Club Pungro on the theme. Yambothung Lotha, Chaplain 5th NAP Pungro delivered the invocation while Shenlithong, Advisor of SNC pronounced the vote of thanks. The programme was chaired by Longso, Secretary PTSU.
