Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio today stressed on the need to put a collaborative efforts to push the sports industry forward to bring glory and pride to the state and the nation.
Speaking at the 61st sports meet of Zhadima Village Youth and Sports Organization (ZVYSO) at Zhadima village under Kohima district, he praised the youth of Zhadima village for their extraordinary performance at the national and international platform over the years.
He called upon the persons from Zhadima to continue to give their best and leverage their skills and strength not only to excel at their own level but to represent the range, district, state, nation to international arena.
Stating that Nagaland’s government is planning at hosting the regional and national games in Nagaland in the coming days, he told the sports persons to strive and focus towards medal prospect to make it a reality.
He said the ray to stay connected to developmental activities lies on the volume of unity and better understanding amongst the community.
In this, Ro called upon the public to continue put united efforts and get maximum benefit.
He maintained that sport is one the greatest activities in the world to unify the people and build the feeling of oneness, adding that sports contribute to fitness and healthy society.
Rio also stressed on the need to take Futsal on positive note, which is now gaining popularly since its formation from Uruguay in 1930.
He wanted that Futsal is played at the village level and take it as stepping stone to do well at highest level of soccer.
Nagaland Technical Education & Elections, Advisor Medo Yhokha, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro and several other dignitaries also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Zhadima Village Council, chairman Neilalhoulie Soliezuo shared greetings while ZVYSO president Vizosielie Khoubve delivered presidential address.
104 year Neiprialie M Keditsu, oldest person of Zhadima pronounced elderly blessings. ZVYSO Wrestling Secretary, Kevise-o Soliezuo administered oath to the wrestlers.
Nagaland Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Advisor Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire will grace the valedictory function on January 5 at 1:30 pm.
