Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): P Puthai Lam has reportedly replaced Zhopra Vero as the co-convenor of the Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs).
The Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs of the NNC/FGN led by Brig (Retd) S Singnya, in a press release, issued on November 16, cited what it termed as the “non-inclusion of the Zhopra Vero-led splinter group under the banner of the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs).”
It claimed that the resolutions of the meeting adopted at the WC, NNPGs meeting on October 30 “clearly indicate that the Zhopra Vero-led group is a self-styled faction with no political future for the Nagas and no legal entity to drive monetary funds through taxes, donations, or contributions.”
It termed Vero’s a splinter group attempting to tarnish the image of the Singnya-led NNC/FGN by collecting taxes through intimidation of taxpayers in the name of the NNC/FGN government.
The NNC/FGN reiterated its earlier press statement, urging the people not to “confuse and misinterpret the present issue.”
“In matters of any financial transactions made to the splinter group without the knowledge of NNC/FGN, individuals will do so at their own risk,” it added.
The NNC/FGN further asserted that “a servant cannot expel his master from his own house; instead, the servant must leave and search for a new place to hibernate. Otherwise, the master will take any decree upon him at his own will.”
