PVSU to organise sessions annually

Wokha, January 2 (MExN): Pongidong Village Students Union (PVSU) held its session on December 29 and 30, 2016 under the theme, ‘Shouldering ones responsibility’ at community Hall, Pongidong. It was decided during the programme that PVSU will organise their sessions annually.  

During the session, Redt Additional Planning Commissioner, CN Ovung was the chief guest and Nchumbemo Humtsoe, Inspector Special Branch Wokha, Nagaland was the theme speaker.  

The theme speaker reminded that from dawn to dark, everyone had various responsibilities therefore, one must be wary of one’s responsibility, which will transcend and wane all chaos and confusion in one’s life and in the society.  

The chief guest said that student’s life is an investment of the parents and therefore, “one must question oneself, what will be the return to the parents. Student’s life is the best stage of life so it is always wise to choose the right path but students who botched it, lives a miserable life.” He also cautioned the students pursuing studies in the metro cities and towns not to be carried away by the glamour of the world but carry on with ones duties diligently, invest and explode ones full potential in the studies.  

Welcome address was delivered by Nzanchumo Humtsoe, President PVSU, annual report from Benathung Tsopoe General Secretary and Liyani Emangrui Finance secretary, special song by the college students while Rev. Rapvuo Odyuo, Pastor Pongidong Baptist Church invoke God’s blessing, and Mosa said the benediction.  

PVSU President Jonjibemo Tsopoe in a press release said that the Union elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-19, which will be headed by Jonjibemo Tsopoe as President, General Secretary Mhachamo Humtsoe, Lidemo (Alex) Lotha as finance along with others. The new office bearers were blessed by Rev. Elhio Pastor Christian Revival Church during the closing service which was held at Pongidong Baptist church, while Ben Lotha, Youth President Youth Director shared the words of God.   On the first day after unfurling the union flag by the President, games and sports events was kick off and in the evening a brain storming literary session was organised by the literary secretary.
