PWD Minister, Tongpang Ozukum visited Peren on May 3 to inspect the ongoing road works progress and encouraged the department officers to put in more efforts and show some tangible progress.
It was learnt that there was a tussle as to which localities would the road repairs and maintenance begin. This led to delay in commencement of works resulting in slow progress compared to other districts. In this regard, the Minister sought a detailed report from the EE (R&B) Peren Division to be submitted within a week on the reasons behind delay in works.
While encouraging the department officials to put maximum effort, the Minister informed that he will oversee the progress of work in a week’s time. He also encouraged the engineers to show their efficiency, commitment and determination as this is an opportune time to show what the Naga engineers were capable of.

Later, the Minister visited office of the SDO PWD (R&B), Jalukie where he held another meeting with the officials.
