I rather remain silent but the situation compelled me to burst out so that someone might find it helpful in coming days. There are so many problems, however; I would like to highlight a few challenges that PwDs job aspirants have been facing critically regarding the jobs reservation for PwDs in Nagaland Government.
The Right of Person with Disabilities Act, 2016 mandates to give 4% Reservation in Government jobs for person with benchmark disabilities. However, in Nagaland reservation has been misused. Last year 2024, the NSSB has advertised 297 posts out of that if 4% were given it would be 11 posts for PwDs but in reality, the NSSB has given only seven posts, which is not even 3%. Recently in 2025, the NSSB has advertised 198 posts out of that if 4% is given it will be seven but they have given only six posts. Imagine if the renowned organised Government does such things, what do you expect from the Departmental offices in Nagaland?
Another confusing trend is going on in NPSC. Recently they have advertised around 98 posts, which they have given beyond 4% i.e. six posts (which should be three posts only). However, in Benchmark disabilities we have different Categories like A,B,C,D,E. Here the recent advertisement the NPSC has allotted only to the category of A and B out of six posts, just like the previous year.
If this continuous it will effects many job aspirant especially PwDs peoples of various categories. As per the 2011 Census majority of the PwDs are from Categories (C). However, they have been denied equal share of posts, which violates rights.
Thus, I want to appeal to the concerned authority to address our problems before the exam i.e. December 13, 2025 and settle the issues as possible and to implement the Reservation systems with fairness and accountability.
