PWD workers leaders told to return cash

Dimapur, April 26 (MExN): An association of workers of the PWD has asked two leaders of another organization of the PWD (R&B and Housing) to return an amount of more than 26 Lakhs said to have taken without the knowledge of the executive engineers.
The All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association issued a notice today to the president and general secretary of the All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) Work Charge Employee Association. The note said the two leaders must return to every division Rs. 26, 26, 000 which the two had allegedly withdrawn from the office of the Chief Engineer of Kohima without the concern of the Executive Engineers and unit presidents f the respective divisions.
“The amount deducted were the hard-earned money of the fixed-pay labor employee; accordingly no person shall have the right to deduct such kinds without prior knowledge or concern of the employees as well” the not, appended by all the leaders of the PWD field workers’ association.
The president and general secretary of the All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) Work Charge Employee Association to return the money to the respective division at the earliest. “Thereafter, a reasonable amount should be deducted with prior knowledge of the concern executive engineers, unit president and fixed-pay labor employees in case if such deduction is required,” the note added.
