Wokha, February 28 (MExN): Public Works Department (PWD) Field Workers’ Association Wokha Unit (R&B) (PWDFWAWU) has appealed to the department concerned to release immediately ‘leave without pay’ of September to November 2003, “which the Govt. of Nagaland has forcefully implemented to all the work charged employees under NPWD in 2003 and the Finance Department has already released for payment since last month.” ‘Leave without pay’, it stated, is meant for Work Charged employees’ salaries. A press statement from PWDFWAWU said any group or individual has no authority to deduct any amount from the head as the court fee has been deducted several times from all the Work Charged employees. The statement was appended by Chumthungo, President, Nsungbeni Kikon, Finance Secretary, and Mhalo, Treasurer.
