Queries met at Financial Inclusion Mela in Kigwema

Kohima, January 25 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Jakhama Block held a Financial Inclusion Mela in collaboration with various line departments to commemorate Republic Day 2020 in Kigwema Village Council Hall on January 25.

 


Resource persons from department of Labour, Health & Family Welfare, Social Welfare, India Post, Payment Bank and SBI came together to explain various schemes available and clarify doubts regarding the schemes.

 


To encourage small savings and make the services provided by formal financial institutions accessible, Senior Manager, India Post, Payment Bank, Moala Ao said that payment and banking facilities were made available in Post Office from 2018. In order to avail various subsidies provided by the government, she reminded them that it was necessary to seed one’s Aadhaar card.

 


Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kewekote Teno highlighted on the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan Yojana, (PM-SYM) a pension scheme for unorganised workers between 18 and 40 years with monthly income below Rs 15,000.

 


This scheme will provide Rs 3000 per month from 60 years onwards. The enrolment can be done by visiting the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).

 


Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) were explained by District Co-ordinator Social Welfare, Vidilhounuo Solo and Kohima Co-ordinator, Health & Family Welfare, Seyie Denny Kin respectively.

 


Under AB-PMJAY, presently there are 60 government hospitals, district hospitals, CHCs, some sub-centres and 6 private hospitals, empanelled.

 


Sectional Overseer, Jakhama RD Block Chingmei Phom explained the MGNREGA scheme. SBI Manager, Zakhama Branch, BS Chawan and Field Officer, SME & Agri, SBI Kohima, Imtitoshi Imsong also shared on bank related matters.

 


Area Co-ordinator Jakhama RD Block, Vilaseno Weo informed that DAY-NRLM under Jakhama Block has a total of 1988 households, 226 Self Help Groups with 1701 members having bank account. Under Startup Village Entrepreneurship (SVEP) with a corpus fund of Rs 2.60 crore, it was able to support 1452 entrepreneurs in trading, manufacturing and services sectors, the resource persons informed.
