
Peren, August 13 (MExN): Students took part in commemoration of Quit India Movement on August 8 in Songlhuh village of Peren district.
A press release from Chairman, Songlhuh Youth & Students’ Union informed that representatives of Assam Rifles, Ahthibung Post gave motivational lecture and made the students understand about the historical day and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
The students also carried out rally in the village to make people aware about Quit India Movement, it added.
The movement was launched at Mumbai session of All Indian Congress Committee led by Mahatma Gandhi on August 8, 1942, demanding an end to British rule in India.
