Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Nagaland University, Lumami Campus on October 17, sources have confirmed. It is learnt that Gandhi will be arriving by chopper and landing at the university helipad Monday morning along with other unnamed officials. The purpose of Gandhi’s visit is not known as other details could be obtained. Sources said, however, that even the Vice Chancellor will be given only 20 minutes audience with Gandhi. Three officials from New Delhi will be arriving this week to chalk out Gandhi’s schedules, sources said.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that citizens of Lumami village are gearing up for the high profile visit. Jungle clearance and slight road repair work will begin tomorrow. Rahul will be the third from the Gandhi family to visit Nagaland University. Former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and his wife Sonia Gandhi visited the university in 1987 during its inauguration.
