Rahul spoke the facts: NPCC

Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The NPCC today stated that NPF, by accepting the “communal BJP-RSS” as its high command, has lost all moral right to speak on behalf of the Nagas “who are classed as religious minorities and have no place in the BJP-RSS idea of nationhood.” Referring to NPF’s accusation of AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi being brainwashed by the state congress and remaining unaware of happenings in the country, NPCC said, resorting to “the gambit of crying wolf in drawing the attention of the Election Commission of India on Rahul Gandhi’s speech is nothing but a cheap publicity gimmick since the NPF has run out of issues before the people.”

NPCC asserted that the issue of solution within three months as promised by NPF during 2003 assembly elections will continue to haunt NPF into denial mood. The proclaimed role of “facilitator” and “mediator” to the ongoing Naga political peace talks by the NPF, it said, has miserably failed to achieve anything other than to befool the people. “The NPF aligning with the communal forces of BJP – RSS combine can only hope to achieve imposition of alien culture on the Nagas instead of finding a political solution that remains elusive after 17 years and 68 rounds of talks.”

Meanwhile, NPCC declared that contrary to the NPF claims of step-motherly treatment by the Congress government at the centre, an amount of 300 crores was generously sanctioned as special package for ENPO areas during 2012-13. However, the “mischievous attempt” of the state government to rather clear the outstanding liabilities in ENPO areas has effectively put brakes on release of the special package. The repeated claims that congress had rejected the 400 crore package for Dimapur-Kohima four lane road sanctioned by the BJP government in 2003 is another desperate attempt to implicate the congress, the release added. It alleged that for the past 11 years, the road project has been stalled because of the NPF government’s indifference especially with regards to random encroachment on the highway stretch particularly between Dimapur-Chumukedima and the proposed new alignment facing hurdles owing to the “opportunistic policies” of NPF government. It reminded that the Congress led UPA government in 2013 had sanctioned a revised package of 1098 crores for this road.

NPCC further stated that “the dilapidated conditions of the state infrastructure, severe financial crunch, total collapse of economy and lack of access to basic amenities bears testimony to the dubious achievement of the NPF in 11 years of their misrule.” Therefore, it asserted, AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi speaking the facts before the people exposes the bitter truth for the NPF to swallow and the question of Rahul apologizing does not even remotely arises.

Having indulged in enough “aggrandizement” to last for generations, “the NPF leaders have abandoned the Naga people by aligning with communal forces that have no respect for other’s culture or belief,” the NPCC said. Hence, it appealed to the people of Nagaland irrespective of party affiliations to “outrightly reject the NPF candidate for shamelessly bowing down before communal forces in an attempt to escape from the mess that has been generated as result of his blatant misrule.”
