Railway officials conduct surprise inspection of New Delhi station

New Delhi, June 19 (MExN): In order to ensure crowd management and availability of adequate passenger amenities at stations during summer rush-2023, Sanjay Jain, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Northern Railway conducted a surprise inspection of New Delhi station on June 18.

Sr Officers of Delhi Division also accompanied the Pr Chief Commercial Manager during the inspection. PCCM inspected the various arrangements at New Delhi Railway Station and also interacted with the passengers, stated a press release.

The General Class Coaches of train no. 11842 Gita Jayanti express placed at PF-04 was checked. Water was available in the toilets. The coach was immediately cleaned under his direction.

He appreciated the summer rush plan of Delhi Division and looked into all the arrangements at various stations in view of the summer rush viz.

Officers are deputed as Special Duty Officers (SDOs) at New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi Jn., Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Delhi Sarai Rohilla station during the peak rush period for overall supervision and coordination.

It may be stated that additional and extra booking and reservation counters are opened to reduce waiting time at counters. Regular and repeated announcements are made for the departure and arrival of trains ensuring the correct platform number; Proper working Train Enquiry system and announcement system; Mega mikes are being used by RPF for crowd management.

All train information boards are in working condition and show updated information; Deployment of additional staff from commercial, RPF & RPSF, and GRP staff, for crowd control and extending help to passengers; Manning of escalators; Regular monitoring through a dedicated What's App Group.

All efforts are made to run eastbound trains from PF 16 at New Delhi Railway station and from PF 1 at Anand Vihar terminal; Special arrangements for Piyau facilities at New Delhi railway station were made to ensure safe drinking water for all passengers.
