Railways extend cancellation of all regular train

Maligaon, June 26 (MExN): The Indian Railways on Friday said that it has extended the cancellation of all regular train services including premium trains, mail/express trains, passenger trains services, narrow gauge trains, etc. until further notice.


However, running of Shramik Special trains, Rajdhani special trains and other passenger special trains which started for movement of the stranded and other people will however continue, it said. Moreover, to ensure uninterrupted supplies of the essential commodities both for common people and various industries spreading throughout the country, movement of freight, parcel and POL carrying trains will continue.


Accordingly, all regular passenger carrying trains coming towards Northeast Frontier Railway zone and originating from the zone, except those which are currently running, will also remain cancelled, informed NFR spokesperson Subhanan Chanda.


It has been decided that all tickets booked for the above trains for the period up to August 12, 2020 will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to the passenger. For PRS counter generated tickets, refund across counters can be taken up to 6 months from the date of journey. For E-tickets, the refund will be made automatically, it stated.
