Rain to continue over North East for another 24 hours

Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): The North-Eastern States which has been subjected to light to moderate rainfall for past two days will continue to receive rain next 24 hours, Skymet informed today.  

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, light to moderate rain will continue over Northeast India for another 24 hours as the trough extending from East Assam to North Bay of Bengal persists and will give more rain over the region.   The intensity of rain will reduce from the region significantly thereafter, it maintained adding that areas including Upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will receive some rain for another day or two, it added.   The private Indian weather forecaster further said that areas including Upper Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh have recorded good amounts of rain during the last 24 hours since 8.30 AM Sunday with Cherrapunji recording a good 31 mm of rain; Itanagar 26.9 mm, Jorhat 23.8 mm, Silchar 20.6 mm, Mangan 23.4 mm, Kailashahar 23.4 mm, Kohima 6.4 mm etc.   An upper air cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas, a trough from East Assam to have resulted in good rains across Northeast India, Skymet said.
