
Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): Monsoon conditions over Nagaland and other parts of North-East India are expected to persist and intensify in the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas from July 2 onwards.
According to the All India Weather Bulletin issued by the IMD on the evening of June 29, fairly widespread rainfall is likely across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on June 30, with heavy showers expected at isolated places. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely in parts of these states.
Similar conditions are forecast to prevail on July 1.
Meanwhile, rainfall is expected to intensify further between July 2 and July 5, with the IMD predicting very heavy rainfall at isolated places across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Heavy rainfall is also likely in neighbouring states including Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh
