
Kohima, July 24 (MExN): The Raj Bhavan Kohima family organised a farewell programme for outgoing Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya and his wife, Kavita Acharya at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on July 24.
A press release from the PRO to Governor stated that during the programme, Acharya expressed gratitude to his officers, staff and security personal at Raj Bhavan Kohima for supporting and making his stay comfortable during the past five years as the Governor of Nagaland.
The Governor stated that people working in Raj Bhavan had an added advantage; he encouraged his officers and staffs to make use of their position in a positive way by strengthening the society. The Governor conveyed his desire for a developed and established Nagaland and called on the gathering to achieve that goal by playing their respective roles efficiently. Unless North East develops India will not develop, he added.
“I have enriched myself with knowledge, friendship and love during my tenure as the Governor of Nagaland and I thank you for all the love and support you all have shown me,” Acharya stated.
Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Dinesh Kumar, IAS stated that Governor Acharya also known as the ‘People’s Governor’ will be remembered for his love and concern for Nagaland and its people.
Dinesh stated that over the last five years the Governor under his initiatives has organised free medical camps, students and teacher exchange programmes and other outreach programmes like meeting with service providers, interacting with orphans and inventing to stay in Raj Bhavan, advocating Government welfare programmes etc all for the benefit of the people of the State. He further added that all these activities have been a positive experience for the staffs of Raj Bhavan.
He wished the best to the outgoing Governor and his wife and hoped that their stay at Raj Bhavan Kohima will always be cherished in their hearts.
Short speeches were also delivered by Joint Secretary to Governor, SK Sahoo, Joint Secretary to Governor, George Abraham, ADC to Governor Sqn Ldr Vikas Ramola, Caretaker Raj Bhavan, Vizolazau Yhome Kuotsu and Officer in Charge of Special Branch, CRPF and Assam Rifles. Addl Secretary to Governor Motuo Sote pronounced the invocation.
