Wokha, March 21 (MExN): The new building of Ralan Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Wokha district was inaugurated by Dr E Motsuthung Patton, Principal Director, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DOHFW) Nagaland in the presence of Dr Akuo Sorhie, Mission Director National Health Mission on March 21.
Dr Patton requested the community to have a sense of ownership so that the medical staffs of the PHC can provide quality health services. He thanked the Engineering wing, DOHFW, contractor, land owners and the public for their continuous support during the construction of the new PHC building, stated the press release from Chief Medical Officer’s office, Wokha.
Addressing the gathering, Mhonlumo Kikon, Ex-MLA and National Spokesperson BJP expressed gratitude to the medical department for their active role in the construction of the new PHC building and providing health coverage to the community in Ralan area. He also mentioned the active role of Eleutheros Christian Society for their collaborative effort in enhancing health services.
Dr Akuo Sorhie, Mission Director, NHM said the new building marks a significant milestone in the health sector and a testament to the collaborative effort of various stakeholders, health care professionals and community leaders. She urged the health care providers to be dedicated and effective while performing their duty. Dr Akuo highlighted that the new building is a symbol of our shared vision for the people of Wokha and Ralan area in particular.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Dr Thungchanbemo Ezung, Chief Medical Officer Wokha.
Short speeches were delivered by Nsanth Kikon, Chairman HCMC Eleutheros Christian Society, Samuel Ovung, Chairman Ralan Hoho and Tsenthungo Ngullie, SDO (Civil) Ralan.
A special song was presented by Ralan Eloe Hoho. The programme, which was chaired by Dr Lawrence Lotha, Medical Officer, Ralan PHC commenced with invocation by Thungchanbemo Ovung, Pastor, New Ralan village and concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Wothungo Humtsoe, Chairman New Ralan village. Various civil society leaders of Ralan area, Medical Directorate Officials and community members attended the inaugural programme. Ralan PHC located at New Ralan village covers Worokvu, Old Chandalashung, New Ralan and Yankheli villages.
