
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 30 (MExN): A rally against drug abuse was held at Tening Town on September 29 at the town square under the theme, ‘People First, Stop Stigma, Discrimination and Strengthen Prevention.’ The event was organised by the District Administration in collaboration with Anti-Drug Committee Tening (ACT), a DIPR report stated.
ADC Tening, Lemlila Sangtam, while delivering a short speech, encouraged the gathering and spoke on how to support oneself and prevent individuals from taking drugs. She said children and students from Tening town are the future of the Naga society and urged the gathering to stand united against drugs and substance abuse. The ADC also called upon the various civil society organizaitons and students union to make the society a drug-free society. Sangtam further added that the Administration is looking forward to extend full cooperation in every possible ways even in the coming days.
Tening Town Youth Organisation president, Kaibakam in his short speech said every teenager must understand that drugs abuse not affect the body and mind but also ruins one’s career. Others who spoke during the rally include presidents of Liangmai council (N) and Zeme Council, Tening Town. The event was actively participated and attended by GHHS, Baptist High School, SFS School and Heraka School, Tening.
