DIMAPUR, May 25 (MExN): The Railway Affected Landowners’ Association (RALOA) has called on the Nagaland Chief Minister to expedite efforts to resolve the long-pending Dimapur railway land dispute. The appeal was made during an executive meeting held on May 24 at Hotel Jal Mahal, Dimapur.
RALOA expressed appreciation to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for addressing the issue during the recently concluded 14th session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The association noted that the Chief Minister had indicated land resettlement as a possible solution to the impasse between landowners and the Railways.
“The association earnestly appeals the honourable CM to expedite every way and means to resolve the long pending dispute between the Railways and landowners at the earliest,” RALOA stated.
Following deliberations, the association unanimously resolved to send a delegation to meet the Union Railway Minister and the Chairman of the Railway Board of India. The objective of the delegation will be to submit a formal representation seeking an early and amicable resolution to the dispute.
