Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The Railway Affected Landowners’ Association (RALOA) has expressed grave concern over the reported issuance of eviction notices by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Lumding Division, to some of its members, despite a stay order granted by the Gauhati High Court.
In a press release issued by its General Secretary, Y Hetokhu Awomi, the association stated that the notices were being served even as efforts were underway to find an amicable solution to the ongoing railway land issue.
It also came in the backdrop of the matter being raised by Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio during the 14th Session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, where land relocation was also considered as a possible option, it said.
Accordingly, the RALOA expressed dismay that the NFR is allegedly serving eviction notices despite efforts for an amicable solution and the court’s order.
To this end, it informed all individual landowners to immediately report the matter to the RALOA’s office so that the issue could be addressed from the right perspective by the association along with the concerned authority.
