
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 5 (MExN): On the first day of the Ranji trophy match played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima the Hyderabad team got off to a dream start as they declared their 1st Innings at 474 runs losing 5 wickets in 76.4 Overs. Rahul Singh Gahlaut led the charge with a double century of 214 runs, while Tanmay Agarwal 80 runs and Tilak Varma (Captain) made 100* runs (not out). For the Nagaland, bowlers Karan, Nagaho, Imliwati, Khrievitso and Jonathan claimed 1 wickets each.
After Hyderabad declared their innings at 474 runs in 76.4 overs, Nagaland started their 1st Innings chase with Joshua Ben Ozukum batting at 26* runs (not out) and Sedezhalie batting at 7* runs (not out) having lost the wicket of Nzanthung Y Mozhui with a total of 35 runs in 11 Overs.
Nagaland still trail by 439 runs and the 2nd day promises more excitement as the former Ranji Trophy winners Hyderabad will try to exploit the morning field conditions. Nagaland’s batting line up will be tested and it remains to be seen if they can withstand the experienced Hyderabad bowling attack.
