Phek, October 4 (MExN): The Sohonumi Clan, Phek has strongly condemned the alleged “inhuman” rape of a 14-year old minor housemaid by one Surhoseyi (Kuvethi) Keyho during the middle part of August last at the residence of K. Soho in Bethany-I colony, Phek Town.
A condemnation note jointly appended by Clan Chairman Kuveluta Soho and General Secretary Kuzhovesa Soho, alleged that the rapist had “on several occasions” repeatedly raped the minor. Terming the “ugly act” as “shameless” and “beyond human tolerance”, the Clan expressed its strong resentment and further urged the competent authority to award befitting punishment as per the law of the land.
Asserting that the rapist deserves “stringent punishment”, the Clan urged the concerned authority not to give bail to the rapist. It further warned that anybody intervening in bailing out the rapist shall be held responsible for any untoward consequence.
