Rashtriya Poshan Maah culminates in Nagaland

Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The culmination programme for the month-long celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah was held in all districts and other headquarters in Nagaland state on September 30. 

Peren: For Peren District the programme was held on September 30 at DC's Conference Hall. It was organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Peren District under the theme ‘Identification of SAM/MAM children, Development of Kitchen garden in AWC.’ 

DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS handed over certificate of appreciation to different individuals from different Anganwadi Centres of Peren District for their active participation during the month long activities conducted. 

The programme was chaired by CDPO Tening, Yanbeni Humtsoe, while month long brief report on Peren District Poshan Maah 2020 was delivered by CDPO Ahthibung, Mangliyanba Longkumer and the programme concluded with vote of thanks by Watila.

Tuensang: The Poshan Maah closing ceremony for Tuensang was held at CKS Hall Tuensang on September 30 with Kumar Ramnikant IAS, DC Tuensang as the special guest. 

DC Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant gave away the prizes of the Poshan Maah online competitions. In photography- Adekhing Mongzar (first position), Sujemla (second) and Chimengkaiba Chang (third) were the winners respectively; for painting, L Mukom (first), Imtiyangla and Chongshen Kejong at second and third respectively and for Slogan, L Themsao (first position), Khumtila Sangtam at second and Maniu at third position.

PH Ramaikalo, SBP Tuensang highlighted the entire exercise of the Poshan Maah month and mentioned all the efforts of the team work of the convergence departments.

Chotsase Sangtam DPO ICDS Tuensang addressed the welcome note in the programme while Thungpang District Coordinator closed the programme with vote of thanks. 

Bhandari: As part of Poshan Maah celebration 2020, ICDS Bhandari held a block level culmination cum cooking competition programme with the theme, ‘Better nutrition, better health’ on September 29 at the town hall, Bhandari.

SDO Civil, Bhandari, Sulanthung (NCS) the special guest highlighted on the importance of organic food and nutritious balanced diet for healthy pregnant and nursing mothers, adolescent girls and children below six years stating that a healthy family makes a healthy society and a healthy nation.

Nutritious food cooking competition was held whereby Bhandari Town Eloe Hoho was declared the winner and Anganwadi workers team and Banana Self Help Group were declared the runners up.

Child Development Project Officer, Bhandari, TY Peter Yanthan delivered the welcome address.  

Mokokchung: Under the initiatives of the Department of Social Welfare the closing programme of Poshan Maah was held on September 30 at Penli Panchayat Hall, Mokokchung. 

As part of the programme a painting competition on the theme “Identification of SAM/MAM” and “Development of Kitchen Garden in AWC” was held, where students from different schools participated. EAC Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum, officials from Social Welfare Department and winners of the painting competition also attended the programme.

Lazami: Ghathashi ICDS celebrated Poshan Maah under the supervision of the Social and Welfare department on convergence with the Medical department under Pughoboto sub-division from September 1 to 30 at Lazami village.

CDPO Chiro in his keynote address spoke on the importance of the Poshan and Block co-ordinator, Vikito stressed on the importance of organic foods. Dr Alivis spoke on the importance of organic foods and how to care the malnutrition children. The medical department gave free medicine to pregnant women and nursing mothers. The program was chaired by Supervisor Mghatovi.

Chukitong: Poshan Maah programme culminated with a cooking competition conducted in collaboration with Wokha and Chukitong Block department of Social Welfare, held at Blue Hill colony, Wokha on September 30. Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Orenthung Lotha graced the programme as the special guest. State Project Management Unit (SPMU) team Kohima, Dr Yongya Chiangmak also spoke during the programme. 

The cooking competition was focused mainly on how to prepare food for pregnant women, lactating women and children from 0-6 years, all together 8 teams of Anganwadi workers took part in the competition. The judges were EAC, Wokha Imtinungula Longkumar, Dr Khelito Zhimomi, DPO (RCH/UPI) Nodal Officer Poshan and SIS, FNHW, Gender Area coordinator R Nzanbeni.

Tsuman & Etsuchuka colony bagged the first prize, while Blue Hill, PWD and Church colony and Vungojoju, Molontsu and GHSS got the second and third respectively. The winners were awarded with cash.

The function was chaired by CDPO, Wokha, Myanlumo Lotha, welcome address was delivered by District coordinator Poshan Abhiyaan, Shanjothung Ngullie while District Project Assistant Poshan Abhiyaan, Annie Lotha.

Longkhim: The Rashtriya Poshan Maah culmination programme was held at MARCOFED Marketing Shed Longkhim town with Additional Deputy Commissioner Longkhim, Kikumsungla Jamir as special guest on September 30.

CDPO Longkhim, C Tsalito Sangtam addressing the programme said that it focused on young mothers meeting for their health, proper intake of nutrition and also locals leaders and students leaders were conducted. 

The programme was chaired by Supervisor Phungpila Sangtam while Pastor LTBL Likhum invoke God’s blessing. 

Dimapur: A programme on Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan organised by Nehru Yava Kendra, Dimapur in collaboration with DPRO and NSS, was held at Youth Hostel Dimapur on September 30.

During the programme, Founder and Director Wings Training Solution, Dip highlighted various schemes initiated by the government and called for creating awareness. The function was attended by members of NYK and NSS, Dimapur.
