Ravi, Khango to meet on Sept 19

A meeting between between NSCN/GPRN-K President Khango and Interlocutor of the Indo-Naga political talks, RN Ravi has reportedly been scheduled on September 19.

Confirming the news, sources in the NSCN/GPRN-K said that the meeting was called by the Interlocutor, who is also the Governor of Nagaland.

The meeting will be held in Dimapur and will most likely discuss the matter related to expulsion of the group’s General Secretary Isak Sumi; sources informed The Morung Express on Thursday.

Isak is also the group’s representative and co-convenor to the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs).

He was expelled on September 12, on charges of violating the group’s yezahbo (constitution) and also included “nepotism, tribalism, failed to follow and adhere to the Joint Council meeting resolution adopted on 23rd Oct 2018, superseding President’s power and authority, seized the Office of Home Ministry, deployment and maintaining the general strength of Military unit which is against the authority of Chief of Army Staff and General Headquarter.”

Khango then appointed Newell Naga as the group’s new general secretary.
