Kohima, February 13 (MExN): URA Academy Tenyidie Mission Project (UATMP) and Razeba Public Youth Organization (RPO) singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the adoption of Tenyidie as an official language in Razeba Area during “nousi-pfhekfo” programme on February 12 at Ura Academy Badi at Kohima Mission Road.
A news report issued by Max Menuse-O Khieya stated that one of the objectives of Ura Academy is to promote Tenyidie, the common standard to all areas and section of Tenyimia people. Under such ambition, the Ura Academy Board of Directors , in one of its meeting passed a resolution to sponsor Tenyidie language missionaries to various part of Tenyidie areas to bring people of Tenyimia community together to learn and use Tenyidie for better understand and closer contact in every sphere of life .
Keeping in view of this noble policy, the people of Razeba Area under the aegis of RPY, Phek District of Nagaland came forward to adopt and impart Tenyidie in all schools for the better of future generation in one hand and to embark, promote and fulfilling the policy of Naga Heritage Study framed and introduced by the Government of Nagaland.
Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President, former chief minister of Nagaland who is also the president of Ura Academy attended the occasion as the speaker.
In his short speech, Liezietsu expressed happiness and congratulated the leaders of RPO who have taken a crucial decision to adapt and impart the mother tongue language to Razeba area which is significant and historic.
He said their knowledge and maturity would not go in vain but they would continue to serve and guide the ways in promoting the mother tongue in Tenyimia areas even in the future.
“We cannot change our bloodlines. We will always be Tenyimia whether we like it or not. So we have to continue to foster to promote Tenyidie,” he said while lauding the leaders of RPO for their contributions which would be much appreciated and acknowledged by future generations of Razeba Area.
Liezietsu also informed that there are currently about 250 MA Tenyidie (NU) students and at the completion of their masters, students would be given to opportunities to pursue PhD in Tenyidie .
He also appraised the gathering that the students are doing well in writing their dissertations and also about 220 books have been written such as Art & Crafts of Tenyimia Community, Phonology of Tenyidie, Traditional, Work, Culture & Economy of Tenyimia, etc.
The MoU was signed by Prof. D. Kuolie Secretary General, Ura Academy on one side and Khazi Lea, President RPO and Dr. Ravise Rume, Convenor, Tenyidie Learning Centre Razeba Area on the other side of the MoU.
Earlier, Rev. Tsolie Chase invoked God's blessings while Vipralhou Kesiezie gave the introductory speech and also chaired the program and later Daso Paphino pronounced the benediction.
