
Mokokchung, May 11 (MExN): The Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati conducted a Town Hall meeting on Micro Small & Medium Enterprises [MSMEs] related issues on May 11 at Longkumer Kilem, Mokokchung, Nagaland.
The meeting was chaired by Aridaman Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati while Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung was the chief guest of the event. Deputy Director, MSMEDI, Nagaland, General Manager, DICC, Mokokchung and AGM, Canara Bank also graced the occasion. Other dignitaries present included officials from NABARD, SIDBI and Branch Heads of the banks functioning in Mokokchung and representatives from Industry Associations.
The meeting was attended by about 150 participants which included entrepreneurs, women Self Help Groups amongst others.
Two presentations were made during the course of the meeting. The first one was on the findings of a survey that was conducted amongst the entrepreneurs in Mokokchung and its adjoining areas prior to the Town Hall meeting with a view to understand the issues and difficulties faced by them. Another presentation on the framework for the revival and rehabilitation of MSMEs was made for the benefit of the bankers and the entrepreneurs.
An interactive session was also held for the benefit of participants. A few queries relating to banking services/ infrastructure etc. were responded to by the concerned stakeholders.
During the meeting, banks assured that they would contribute their best towards increasing the flow of credit to this sector. As part of the credit linkage, a few loan sanction letters were handed over to MSE borrowers during the concluding part of the event. The programme was well received by the participants.
