MOKOKCHUNG, MARCH 23 (DIPR): A comprehensive survey will be undertaken by the SBI to open a Chest-Bank at Changtongya Town and the License obtained from RBI in due course. This was informed during the District Consultative Committee meeting convened by SBI, Lead Bank of India Mokokchung for Mokokchung District for the Quarter ended December 2005 held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Singh at the DC’s Conference Hall Mokokchung on 17th March 2006.
Regarding State Bank of India proposal for covering SBI Tuli Paper Mill Branch into a Satellite Office under SBI Tuli Town Branch was referred to Block Level Bankers Committee for a detailed survey and to be reported to the next DCC meeting. The meeting also resolved to form Farmers Club in all 6 (six) respective Blocks in the District in a bid to improve economic conditiones of the Rural economy. The meeting was attended by representatives from Allahabad Bank, NABARD, Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda, DRDA, DIC, KVIC, Security and District Administration.
The convener of the meeting also highlighted and deliberated on several agendas and resolved to take necessary steps for improvement in all sectors of Banks in Mokokchung District.
