RCD and RCC enter sister club agreement

Member representatives of Rotary Club Dimapur and Rotary Club of Chennai, exchange the club flags after entering into a sister club agreement on March 17.
 
Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): Rotary Club of Dimapur, RI District 3240 and Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram, RI District 3230, India entered into a sister club agreement on March 17, 2011 at Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur and voluntarily agreed to work together in Rotary.
A press note issued by Rtn Sanjay Kumar Jain, president informed that the goal of this agreement is to meet the needs of people in both communities and to create international goodwill and understanding. It is worth mentioning that such type of agreement is the first of its kind in the entire Rotary District 3240 which comprises of North Bengal, States of Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura). The activities which can be undertaken in between these two clubs are: Exchange Club bulletins, letters or e-mails, exchange information on current projects undertaken, develop a Youth exchange program, develop a friendship exchange with 3-4 couples visiting the other Club’s town and District for the Family Exchange, visitor Program, Team Program and Uni-vocational exchange program, help develop the exchange of Study or Knowledge Exchange teams from the two Districts, and extend possible co-operation in Club Projects and Matching Grants.
The note also mentioned that the sister club agreement was signed by Rtn. Sanjay Kumar Jain, President 2010-11, Rtn., Lucy Akokla, President Elect 2011-12 and Rtn. R. C. Gupta, President Nominee 2012-13 on behalf of Rotary Club of Dimapur jointly with Rtn. Mohanakannan Ponnuswamy, on behalf of Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram who is authorized by and is representing the Presidents of the year 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 of Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram. Rtn. Sanjay Kumar Jain and Rtn. Mohanakannan Ponnuswamy also exchanged the club flags. Rtn. Mohanakannan Ponnuswamy was felicitated by a memento and was also given a club souvenir.
