Phek, October 1 (MExN): The District Health Society, Phek conducted a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) outreach camp at Porba village on September 30, providing maternal and child healthcare and other medical services to residents. The camp was led by Chief Medical Officer Phek Dr Chitale Hiese and District Programme Officer, RMNCAH&N, Dr Khriekuolie Liezietsu, along with doctors, nurses and health staff from District Hospital Phek and CHC Pfutsero. 

Altogether, 43 paediatric and 71 gynaecological cases were treated during the camp. Eleven antenatal care (ANC) cases were examined, of which two were identified as high-risk pregnancies. Seven beneficiaries also availed family planning services. Health talks on ANC, postnatal care (PNC) and family planning were conducted.

Other services included dental and oral health (91 cases), ENT (43), general medicine (50), physiotherapy (45) and eye care (92). Free spectacles were provided to eligible beneficiaries. Ultrasound, laboratory tests, X-ray services and medicines were also provided.

A team comprising specialists and health personnel from various departments, including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, radiology, ENT, dentistry, physiotherapy and ophthalmology, attended the camp, along with nurses, technicians, counsellors, social workers and District Programme Management Unit staff.

The outreach camp was aimed at improving access to healthcare for mothers and children, particularly those facing difficulties in accessing regular health facilities.
