
Chumukedima, June 10 (MExN): As part of initiative of Ministry of Rural Development to enable social welfare schemes to be paid directly into Aadhaar linked bank accounts of MGNREGA beneficiaries, the Rural Development Block Chumukedima conducted a training on sensitization on Aadhaar Seeding for village functionaries under RD Block Chumukedima on Friday at BDO’s office Chumukedima.
S. Besu Bosco, Chief Manager, Lead Bank, SBI, Regional Business Office Dimapur and Temsurenla Jamir, Branch Manager, SBI Chumukedima spoke at the training and distributed forms for linking of Aadhaar/UID number with the account of the beneficiaries and also consent forms giving consent to implementing department for using beneficiaries’ Aadhaar number to establish and authenticate his/her identification under MGNREGA.
Bank officials also highlighted the process of opening of bank account and the documents required for opening of account for those beneficiaries who do not have bank account. They further urged the village functionaries not to look for temporary solution but for permanent solution.
Highlighting the importance of Aadhaar Seeding, Imkong Phom, Assistant Project Coordinator, DRDA Dimapur urged all the MGNREGA job card holders to apply for aadhaar card registration as only those who have their aadhaar card seeded to their MGNREGA job card would receive money.
Block Development Officer, Chumukedima K. Yamao Konyak gave a keynote address on the occasion.
Imtizulu, BAPO, RD Block Chumukedima proposed vote to thanks. Tiatoshi Jamir, SO, RD Block Chumukedima chaired the programme.
Village functionaries of all the 49 villages under RD Block Chumukedima attended the training.
