Tuli, September 29 (MExN): The new RD Block Tuli office building was inaugurated on September 28 by Director of Rural Development, Imlimeren Jamir in the presence of RD officials and representatives from all 11 village councils under Tuli block.
Speaking at the occasion, the RD Director said that RD Block Tuli was created by the State Government on January 20, 2012 with the aim to ease various problems faced by the people in pursuing different developmental activities. However, the block was functioning without proper office and with the inauguration of the new building, he expressed hope that it will help in ameliorating the office functioning to some extent and at the same time empower the staffs of RD block Tuli in discharging their duties with great efficiency, stated a press release.
Maintaining that Tuli area has huge potential aspects in terms of environment, fertility of soil, easy accessibility and being one of the fastest growing township in the state, he called for sense of understanding and proper coordination among the villages under the block in order to usher in progress and development. He further called upon the villages to identify the best suitable schemes for their villages according to the budget available in order to ensure success of implementation.
ADC Tuli, Imsongmeren Imsong while addressing the gathering, stressed on the importance of record keeping as the most important function of running an office. He reminded that it is not easy to secure funds from the centre and urged upon the village leaders and elders to utilise their allotted funds judiciously and fairly.
Underlining that accommodation is prior requirement for any development, Addl. Mission Director, NSRLM, Kevipodi also congratulated the Tuli Block on acquiring the new block office and termed it as a dream fulfilled for the people of Tuli Block. He impressed upon them to plan projects according to the size and budget available in order to ensure total implementation of schemes. Stating that Tuli Block is also covered under NSRLM, he further called upon the women folks to form SHGs and work hard to benefit from it to be independent and self sufficient.
Speeches were also delivered by PO DRDA Mokokchung, President, VDB Association, RD Block Tuli, VCC Kangtsung, VCC Merangkong. The inaugural programme was chaired by VDB Secretary, Wameken Village, T. Bendangtoshi Jamir.
