Kohima, December 16 (MExN): The department of Rural Department celebrated advent Christmas with much fun and gaiety on December 14 at the RD Conference Hall, Kohima.

Sharing Christmas greetings, Secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo, impressed upon the officers and employees of the department to make this Christmas a very special one by allowing Jesus Christ to be born in our hearts. Stating that Christmas is the most important festival not only for Christians but for every religion, he however lamented that many people misunderstand the real meaning of Christmas and reminded that one should not miss the real meaning of Christmas.

Theluo further congratulated the director and her team for organizing the day in a befitting manner, according to a press release.

Speaking on the importance of department gathering, director, RD, Liboni Humtsoe maintained that meetings and gatherings are part and parcel of every organization or departments as it is a way for all employees to gather, exchange ideas, make decisions, share feedbacks and build team spirits.

She also said that it also creates an opportunity to communicate openly with the entire members in the same room so that everyone can be on the same page. 

Reminding that Christmas time is here again to fill our hearts with love, joy, hope and happiness, Humtsoe further called upon all to be thankful to God for this joyous occasion.

Earlier, additional director I, Azenuo Pienyu shared her experience on “My Unforgettable Christmas”. 

Special songs were presented by RD, Secretariat, NSRLM, MGNREGA Cell and RD Directorate.

The programme was chaired by joint director, RD, K. Neibou Sekhose and started with an invocation prayer by SPM, NSRLM, Imonenla Phom and concluded with a mass benediction. The occasion was marked by lucky tip and sharing of Christmas blessings followed by Christmas Feast hosted by Minister, RD, Metsubo Jamir, the release stated.
