Azenuo Pienyü along with RD Officials and community members during the inauguration of Phentejon Community Hall at Phentejon Bamboo Model Village on August 11.

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): Nagaland’s Rural Development director Azenuo Pienyü today inaugurated the newly constructed Phentejon Community Hall funded by RD at Phentejon Bamboo Model Village under RD Block Tseminyu.
Congratulating the Phentejon community on this notable achievement, Pienyü remarked that RD is the only department who has footprints in the farthest far flung village of the State and are working towards development at the grassroot level.
Towards this, she reiterated the need to use developmental funds judiciously and come up with good success stories. She urged upon them to bring development and make it a real model village and be an example to other villages from different districts.
Since Phenejon is a new village established in 2004, she hoped that the new community will start with unity, honesty, transparency and peace among themselves.
Maintaining that the people and the community has now the liberty to plan and take up projects according to the needs of the village, she also called upon them to take part in people’s participatory plans and to share and put up innovative ideas which will benefit the villagers.
She further urged them to be co-operative to the officers of the department in the blocks and work hand in glove together to avail developmental funds.
Benjamin Lorin, VDB secretary, Phentejon BM Village gave a brief account of the construction of the building.
