RD Office empty during AICC General Secy’s visit

Dimapur MARCH 14 (MExN): With the initiative taken by Sonia Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh in launching the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for the most backward districts in the country, for which Mon has also been one of the 200 districts in the country to implement the scheme, Sanjay Bapna, AICC General Secretary visited Mon and attended the DPDB meeting. Bapna is also in charge of the North Eastern state, UPA Government.

A release issued by M Sangti Konyak, AGS DCC, Mon, stated that during his visit to Mon, Sanjay Bapna visited RD Office at 2:00 pm adding that apart from the LDA there was no one else in the office. “This is very shameful on the part of the Government the way the office functions”, it stated. The release further stated that in the afternoon he visited Chui village and met the Chief Angh, GB’s and village elders. The release stated that in the evening he organized a meeting with various NGO leaders such as KU, KSU and all frontal party leaders and explained about the programme and Scheme.

The release further added that P. Chingao called all the leaders to play active role for the implementation of the scheme. The release also added that the District Congress Committee (DCC) welcomed and appreciated the initiative taken by Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh for the concern of the ‘poorest of the poor’.
