Kohima, September 14 (MExN):  A one-day orientation training on ‘People’s Plan Campaign-2021’ for ‘Village Development Plan 2022-23’ was held for Project Directors and Block Development Officers under the state Rural Development department on September 14 at RD Conference Hall, Kohima. 

According to updates from the RD Joint Director, the Commissioner & Secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo stressed on the importance of properly understanding the concept of PPC and preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and to come up with a proper and comprehensive developmental plan since it is the mandate of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India.

Recalling that several AHoD’s participated in the recently held meeting with the Nagaland Chief Secretary, Theluo said that it showed the sincerity of the line departments to make the campaign a success. In this regard, he expressed optimism that better development plans would come up.

Theluo also requested all project directors to approach and tie up with their respective deputy commissioners to convene meetings at the district level for better coordination. He further emphasized that it was important for each village to set up GPDP Facilitation Team for preparation of GPDP.

Member secretary, Panel of Review of Communitisation of Public Institutions & Services Act, John Lohe gave a PowerPoint presentation on proposed questionnaire for Communitisation of Public Institutions & Services Act 2002 while BMMU, Jakhama Block, Sokhrienuo Rupre-o spoke on Village Poverty Reduction Plan.

Orientations on ‘People’s Plan Campaign-2021’ and ‘Village Development Plan 2022-23’ were presented by Sr Faculty, SIRD, Juthsutho Phoji and RDO Vilopi Sakhrie respectively, the release stated. The programme concluded with vote of thanks from the chair, K Neibou Sekhose, Jt Director & SNO, GPDP.
