Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The Nagaland NCC Ex-Cadet Association (NNCCEX-CA) held its first ever felicitation programme for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) cadets from Nagaland state on July 25 at Sakus Mission College,  Dimapur. 

According to a press release received here on Friday, Hotolu Sumi, SDO (Civil) Dimapur was the guest of honour and Talinukshi Imchen, Political Assistant attended as guest speaker. 

Speaking at the function, Hotolu lauded the RDC cadets of Nagaland for successfully competing with cadets from rest of the country. Acknowledging Republic Day Camp as the most prestigious and important for NCC cadets, he further challenged the cadets to continue being an ‘inspiration.’ Highlighting the importance of extra-curricular activities, he opined that all these exposures helps in building character, confidence and develops personality. 

Calling the youths to be responsible citizens, Hotolu also reminded about the huge expectations on youth from society, and exhorted them to honour the responsibility. 

A former NCC cadet, Talinukshi Imchen attributed his success to his involvement with the NCC, and said that ‘NCC being the largest youth organization of India, every selected cadet is fortunate to be a part of NCC.’

Lauding the association for their good works, Imchen expressed support and willingness to assist the NNCCEX-CA. While applauding the RDC cadets, he also requested the association to acknowledge Thal Sena Cadets in the coming years, the release stated.

Along with speeches from various members, JUO Neikesano Kuotsu, Patkai Christian College (A) spoke on behalf of the RDC cadets. 

Meanwhile, the Association expressed gratitude to Chairman- Sakus Mission College for providing their auditorium and other necessities for the event. The meeting was positively attended by NCC cadets, special invitees, dignitaries and well-wishers from all walks of life, the release added.
