Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force and State Lotteries Khriehu Liezietsu today urged the Naga youths to re-invent dignity of labor instead of aiming for only government jobs and other white collar jobs.
He said this while addressing the gathering during the 49th annual freshers’ day of Kohima College as invitee.
Liezietsu said Nagas should also display “our own skills” and capacity by becoming skilled workers and entrepreneurs, which is the only way the state economy will bloom as Nagaland is very dependent on outsiders. He reminded it is high time that our society and state become self reliant, physically and mentally prepare ourselves to do all jobs for our development as well as for daily survival.
Describing students as the future leaders, Liezietsu advised them to practice and inculcate positive actions and thoughts for they will reap tomorrow what they sow today.
Appreciating the programme for not featuring chief guest, Liezietsu encouraged shunning the unhealthy practices of VIP culture. He lamented VIPs are usually invited to events for monetary and other benefits instead of words of wisdom and encouragement for the society’s benefit. Liezietsu called upon the other colleges, bodies and organizations to follow the good example in the coming days.
He further challenged the students to live up to the motto “Search for excellence” with hard work and discipline to achieve the goal in life.
