In the lead up to the anticipated ‘Apex Combat Championship (ACC)’ centred on mixed martial arts (MMA) set to take place on September 30, the two fighters for the main event Musa Conteh (American Top Team) squaring up against up-and-coming Naga lad, Tovi Sema have promised to put on a great and exciting show for all those coming to witness the match at Agri Expo Chümoukedima.

“I’m super excited to show the fans what MMA is on a little higher level and put on a great show,” Conteh said as the two fighters along with the other line-ups faced-off for the first time on September 29 at Premier Lodge located near the main venue.

On the other hand, Sema viewed their match as a great to face-off against an experienced fighter and hoped to deliver a worthwhile performance.
The other face off between undefeated MMA national gold medallist, Chourajit Laishram from Manipur against 11-time undefeated Darren Karshandy from Shillong’s Happy Red Rooster MMA demonstrated a match which audiences wouldn’t want to miss.

Laishram calmly but confidently stated that he was there to break Karshandy’s undefeated record. Unfazed by the statement, Karshandy was quick to come up with his own response announcing, “He’s not an easy opponent but he’s a beatable opponent and I’m going to be the one to do that.”

The ACC is being held in collaboration with Alobo Naga’s Musik-A Events together with ‘Tune In.’ It assures audiences to bring an unadulterated, high octane MMA action featuring some of the biggest MMA names in the national circuit and up and coming fighters from the North-East region.

The card boasts exciting matchups in various weight classes, including Flyweight, with Nazareth Lalthazuala (12 wins) from Mizoram facing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist Aman Gussain (6 wins) from New Delhi, and Aboto Ayemi’s going up against Mizoram’s Phenom Lalhmangaihzuala.

The event also has lined up entertainment spectacles, featuring Nagaland’s Renbeni Odyuo, representing The Fitness House, against Assam’s Leeza, representing The Clinical Spa, Dimapur, in an exhibition boxing match.

Indie pop artist, singer-songwriter and also member of the TaFMA Nagaland Collective, Joshua Shohe will go glove-to-glove with Tonoto Zhimomi, Mr Nagaland and GMI Mr India.

Moanungsang, the first Naga Idol, will serve as Saturday evening’s announcer/host, while Moko Koza and Afrikan Amakishiu entertain between fights. DJ Lil Bomb will be the official DJ.
