This week, the Dimapur community will have the opportunity to witness its first serious music Graduation Recital/Music Showcase of top calibre and quality in performance. These back-to-back Recitals will feature 3 candidates who are to graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Music in Choral Conducting and Music Associate Diplomas, respectively. The Recitals will take place at the Northern Lights Chapel NCM Campus inside the CRDS Compound along Nagarjan Road, on dates 18th and 19th May 2016 at 4pm in the evening.
Repertoire will include the music of Haydn’s Organ Mass, Moses Hogan’s collection of Negro Spirituals, an excerpt from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and other classical repertory pieces. Also included is a small recital repertoire for vocal solos, Old Italian Arias and some obscure but enjoyable vocal solo negro spirituals.
H. Lalrinmawia is a graduating candidate from Mizoram who came to Nagaland Conservatory of Music with practically zero knowledge in music. He has nothing but the zeal to learn and serve his mother church. After 4 years of studies he is not only an excellent Choral Conductor but a brilliant pianist who can tackle Mozart Sonatas and Chopin Works like any other decent pianist in the Northeast region. Yeshika Assumi, also came to us with only the same passion for music and serving the church. He has completed our two-year degree course (Music Associate Diploma) and is on to making great change for his community. Kusato Keyho, likewise, is a candidate about to graduate from NCM with a Music Associate Diploma. He will also join his community back in Phek to serve and make music.
Join us to celebrate their successes not just for the sake of their respective communities but for the musical success the will hail from the Northeast Region.
