Recent crimes irks NSF

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 17 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation today expressed utmost condemnation and resentment over the numerous sexual-harassment cases that have been reported within the last couple of weeks. Terming as unfortunate the Naga society ‘stooping low’ on moral and ethical values, the federation appealed to all ‘conscious people’ to maintain and preserve ancestral ethical values with equal responsibility “as it is our inherent duty to protect such kind of uncalled acts which cannot be tolerated in civilized society.”

“The recent case of Mrs. Indu Lotha who was illicitly (sic) molested by her own colleague should be condemned,” a press statement said. The students warned that “such an alien act of indecency in the respected office” should not be allowed to be practiced and demanded from the AO of the 15 BRTF C/O 99 APO to initiate immediate punitive action to the “errant officers.”

Meanwhile, the NSF and the Naga Mother’s Association has vehemently condemned the “uncalled incident” meted out on Medo Yokha, the tribunal general and former president of Angami Students’ Union at Jail Colony on August 16, where an underground reportedly overran his store demanding money at gun-point. The organizations have called upon law enforcing agencies to book the culprit at the earliest and impose punitive action.
