Tuensang, August 8 (DIPR): A brief but impressive programme was organized by the DBs in the Customary Court premises on August 5 in honour of T. Mhabemo Yanthan who recently took over as the new DC Tuensang. While exhorting the gathering, the DC expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him.
He sought the co-operation from all section of the society and urged for continued peaceful co-existence in view of the presence of multi tribe in the district. Stating that DB system was a unique introduction by the British to the Naga administrative system, he asked the DBs to uphold the unique system by delivering justice to the people and to discharge their duties with devotion, sincerity and dedication. Other highlights of the programme included the traditional welcome to the new D.C. presentation of cultural item, beating of traditional log-drum and refreshment.
