Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): The WC, NNPGs, on April 15, stated that it recognises “NSCN/GPRN led by Isak Sumi as the original NSCN” and the group led by “Col. (Retd.) Isak Sumi and Luyanba Yimkhiung remains intact and an important constituent member of the NNPGs.”
“The position of Isak Sumi as Co-convener representing NSCN/GPRN in the WC NNPGs is unchanged” as he enjoys the unanimous support of all the affiliates of NNPGs, led by Convener N Kitovi Zhimomi, stated a press release from the Media cell, WC, NNPGs.
“We recognise NSCN/GPRN led by Isak Sumi as the original NSCN. The group remains in regular touch with GoI (Government of India) on all relevant day-to-day issues, including its position regarding Ceasefire with GoI,” it added.
As per the release, the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) was “constrained to place on record the pertinent facts in order to dispel rumours and propaganda emanating from unreliable and anti-peace elements.”
It further noted that following the “unfortunate internal developments in NSCN set up between Khango Konyak and Isak Sumi,” the position of Isak and Luyanba had “remains intact” within the committee.
In this connection, the WC, NNPGs appealed all the peace yearning Nagas to “remain steadfast and continue to extend support and cooperation to the NNPGs in its pursuit for an amicable political solution with GoI at the earliest.”
“This is not a time for Nagas to be swayed away by anti-peace and anti-solution elements working ceaselessly to sabotage Indo-Naga political solution,” it added.
