Reconcile and unite: NGBF, NTC urge splintered NSCN-K (Khango)

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): The Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) and Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC), on January 17, appealed to the two splintered groups of NSCN-K (Khango) to reconcile and unite urgently.

In a joint appeal, the NTC and NGBF asked every cadre of the group to “give importance to the common cause of the Nagas than giving due importance to its own.”

Further, the two organisations reminded the NSCN-K (Khango) not to “undermine the efforts made by the Nagas as a whole to attain the expected peace in our land, and the group in question must not become the obstacle to the process of peace.”

It was reminded that the Nagas, at present, are passing the most crucial period in view of the fate of the Naga political solution which remains elusive despite 26 years of negotiations.

While every right thinking Naga seemed to be serious about the outcome of the concluded negotiations, the two organisations said that the dissention within the NSCN-K (Khango) group is shocking.

“When this group is one of the members of the Working Committee of 7 NNPGs, what audacity it has to wrangle over any issue which is considered to be more important than the Naga political negotiation and its end result,” it posed.

Accordingly, the NGBF and NTC asserted in the statement that committed cadre of any group considered to be a patriot, is not “expected to stoop low to indulge in mindless gimmicks by wasting valuable time at the cost of the Naga interest.”

Any Naga Nationalist placing self above the common cause is misplacement of one’s position, the statement stressed.

“It is unbecoming on the part of the group in particular to dent the spirit of the negotiators, in particular, and of the Nagas in general…,” it added.

Accordingly, the NGBF and the NTC once again appealed for urgent reconciliation and unity.
